Re: [DogParkList] digital modesGuys,

Thanks so much for the suggestions and help with my digital modes question!! I downloaded both the CocoaModem and MulitMode software last night, and you're right, the CocoaModem is by far the best. I was able to get it receiving PSK31 once I found a signal; haven't tried RTTY yet. I'll play with some cables tonight and see if I can get it to transmit. I tried to decode some CW with MultiMode, and found it inaccurate and almost not worth bothering with. It is difficult to get zeroed in on a CW signal, and even when it is, it messes up word spacing and gets letters wrong, even on a strong s9 signal. If you are listening to someone on a straight key, forgetaboutit.

I've been looking (but not yet using) coccaModem - I'm waiting for a microHam USB DIGI KEYER to arrive.

There are Applescripts to interface it to MLDX

coccaModem (http://homepage.mac.com/chen/cocoaModemPage) is free, it will work with SignalLink, but I thought I'd buy the all in one from microHam.

At this point I can't comment more on either one, I'm pretty much in the same position as you. I will say that Kok Chen (W7AY) who wrote coccaModem is very helpful.

Hello group,

Wondering if I can get some feedback on what kind of software and interfaces you are using for digital modes? I am looking into "Mulitimode"
by Black Cat systems, ( http://www.blackcatsystems.com/software/multimode.html ) and Signal Link SL1+ interface ( http://www.tigertronics.com/sl+main.htm#Part%20Numbers%20&%20Options <http://www.tigertronics.com/sl+main.htm#Part%20Numbers%20&%20Options> : ). I haven't made up my mind yet, but these look descent and probably the most economical way to go.

Also I was wondering if MLDX works with the above....in other words, I still type the other station's call sign into MLDX like normal, and the band/freq/mode info will be automatically filled in as if on SSB, right?
