Dear Fellow Congregant,

 

Our board, officers and staff are always looking for ways to improve the
membership experience here at CBI.  To that end, we are pleased to announce
that we have engaged Kesef Accounting Service to serve as our synagogue's
outsourced bookkeepers.  

 

Kesef is a recognized leader in outsourced synagogue bookkeeping.  They
serve over 85 synagogues and temples around the country, and come very
highly recommended by some of those current clients.  

 

You'll start to see a few changes during the coming weeks and months as we
transition from an in-house bookkeeper to Kesef.  For example, we'll be
"going green" and sending our monthly bills electronically via email,
although paper statements will still be available to members who prefer that
method.    

 

In addition, you'll have the option to pay your open CBI balances via
secure, online credit card transactions 24/7.  Various other cost-effective
bookkeeping and recordkeeping upgrades will be implemented within the CBI
office which, though not directly visible to congregants, will enable us to
streamline and improve our overall bookkeeping function. 

 

We will no longer employ a bookkeeper in the CBI office since Kesef will
soon begin to fill that role.  However, Denise Coscia, our administrative
assistant, (dcoscia at cbi-nj.org <mailto:dcoscia at cbi-nj.org>  or 973-379-3811
x 112) will remain on site at CBI and will be available to assist with
transactions or bookkeeping questions, as may be required. 

 

As with all changes of this magnitude, and despite our best efforts, there
may be a glitch or two as we transition.  We apologize in advance if that
occurs.  

 

Working with our Executive Director Harvey Brenner, the Finance Committee
spearheaded this initiative, and we thank them for their efforts.
