Family Shabbat Service
THIS Saturday Morning, September 21
10:15 a.m. Light Breakafast // 10:30 a.m. Shabbat Service
Our first Family Shabbat of the year is this Saturday, beginning with light
breakfast. A vibrant Shabbat service filled with singing and storytelling,
including a special up-close look at the Torah as we read part of the weekly
parasha. Children take an active part in leading prayers and chanting Torah.
Parents and children will learn and pray together. We will join the
congregation in the sanctuary for the end of the service and enjoy a
kid-friendly kiddush!
Selichot
THIS Saturday Evening, September 21
7:00 p.m. Mincha
7:45 p.m. Maariv and Havdalah
8:15 p.m. Selichot Service
Selichot, which literally means forgiveness, are poems and prayers said in
preparation for the High Holidays. The special service of Selichot, held
just prior to Rosh Hashanah, is designed to help us direct our hearts and
minds to the process of teshuvah, or repentance. We begin to examine our
deeds of the past year, seeking forgiveness from God, and promising to
improve our behavior in the New Year. Some of the prayers and music for the
Selichot service are taken from the services for Rosh Hashanah and Yom
Kippur. This provides a musical transition between the old year and the new
year.
Selichot gives us the opportunity to get ourselves psyched for the
intensity of the Yamim Noraim (Days of Awe). Rabbi Resnick will lead a
discussion on how we can all do this!

Bike for the Jewish Future
THIS Sunday, September 22
Help Send Kids to Jewish Camps
Tour de Summer Camps NJ is a community fundraising event organized by the
Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ with four amazing routes for
cyclists of all skill levels. Plus Family Fun Day Activities!
Proceeds make it possible for more children across Greater MetroWest NJ to
have the life-changing experience of attending Jewish summer camp. Studies
show that summers spent at Jewish camp empower Jewish young people to become
spirited and engaged Jewish adults, thereby laying the groundwork for
strong, vibrant Jewish communities for future generations.

Yom Kippur Chanting Circle
Sunday, October 6 at 5:00 p.m. in the Chapel
Pre-prayer for Yom Kippur at our inspirational chant and song circle with
musical accompaniment.
We focus on key verses from the Day of Atonement liturgy, exploring their
meaning.
We then sing the text as we join together with our voices in simple yet
compelling, melody and rhythm.
The intention of chanting is to awaken the divine in our hearts. It can
soothe the mind and at the very least is simply fun to do! No prior
knowledge of Hebrew or singing ability necessary
only a willingness to
join in spiritual community.
Our 9th Year Begins!
Would you like to HOST or ATTEND
