Shavuot Study Session

THIS Saturday Evening, June 8 at 9:30 p.m. // Mincha / Ma'ariv / Havdalah at
8:30 p.m.

Tikkun Leil Shavuot is the custom of staying up the entire night of Shavuot
studying with the community in order to relive the experience of standing at
Sinai. This year's theme . JERUSALEM! Join fellow congregants for an evening
of enlightenment, engagement and enjoyment as we learn together! We won't
stay up the entire night, but there will be a wide range of engaging topics,
at all learning and interest levels.

(Did we mention . cheesecake!)

Screening of An Unknown Country  with Director

THIS Thursday, June 6 // Lunch at 12:30 p.m. Program Starts at 1:00 p.m.

Join us to screen this documentary that tells the story of European Jews who
escaped Nazi persecution to find refuge in an unlikely destination: Ecuador,
a South American republic barely known at the time. Featuring first-hand
accounts and archival material, the film follows the exiles' perilous escape
and difficult adjustment as they remade their lives in what was for them an
exotic, unfamiliar land. The film's writer and director, Eva Zelig, will
join us to discuss this little-known story of the Jews who were saved and
what became of them.

Open to all CBI members and the general community.
