Screening of An Unknown Country

with Writer/Director

Thursday, June 6

Lunch begins at 12:30 p.m. The program begins at 1:00 p.m.

Join us to screen this documentary that tells the story of European Jews who
escaped Nazi persecution to find refuge in an unlikely destination: Ecuador,
a South American republic barely known at the time. Featuring first-hand
accounts and archival material, the film follows the exiles’ perilous escape
and difficult adjustment as they remade their lives in what was for them an
exotic, unfamiliar land. The film’s writer and director, Eva Zelig, will
join us to discuss this little-known story of the Jews who were saved and
what became of them.

Our programs are open to all CBI members and the general community.

By all means, bring friends!

Contact Lois Dyer at 973-533-1809 for details and to place your lunch order.

The cost is $10 for Adult Forum members & partners // $12 for community
participants

No charge if only attending program
