Holocaust Remembrance Program

Tuesday, April 30 at 8:15 p.m. in the Sanctuary

Our synagogue remembers ... a Holocaust commemoration program in conjunction
with Voices of the Generations. Julie Kohner has been a Jewish educator for
over thirty years, with a master's degree in educational counseling. After
Julie's mother, Hanna, a Holocaust survivor, passed away in 1990, Julie
began to create educational programs to honor the victims and survivors of
the Holocaust. Her goal was to teach the Holocaust as seen through her
mother's eyes. This was the beginning of Voices of the Generations, a unique
and personal approach to Holocaust education.

CBI Lifelong Learning Presents

The Story of the State of Israel Through Its Music

April 29 and May 6, 13 & 20 from 9:30-10:30 a.m.

Join us for this four-class mini-session on Monday mornings. Music is an
ideal way to learn about a country's history and culture. In the initial
module of this class we will be learning about Israel's first two decades
through the music of Naomi Shemer, who is known as the first lady of Israeli
song and poetry. Her music is regarded as the soundtrack of the lives of
Israelis who came of age in the 60's, 70's, and 80's. The class will be led
by Len Hausman.
