Bill,

I also made a pull request for tests for the Issue 3013. I just added the
items from Stefan Ross per Tigris attachment with a test file.

You would need to reorder the commits though for them to be right, since
test should have come first...

I would consider following the cycle starting at Step 3. In all honesty, I
would prefer not having an option for switching back and forth when I doubt
it will ever be used.
