Yeah.  Thanks for helping me through the first pass.  It was a bit rough
trying to learn a new code base.  You taught me a lot.

#1 is the rough one.  I will just make the change for #2; should be
straight forward.  #3 boils down to what we want the "cannot find a valid
scanner" behavior to be.
