yes, but I suspect Andy doesn't want to expand too far on this. I will
try and get the 16 bit port to go (based on your start). I did manage to
get something going in debug mode, but couldn't figure out which
allocation was being wrongly handled as the error occurs long after the
allocation (I assume). I'll probably have to get my old checking malloc
implementations out.
