¡Hola Team Meteorite!
It's been awhile since I could make a worthy contribution to the list,
although in this case I'm only sharing some wealth I didn't create.
Please find attached a Mars Maniac's dream research paper. Dr. Chris Herd
and his team at the University of Alberta et al have utilized all available
earthly and orbiting resources to compile a list of the likely 'birth
craters' of the Mars rocks in our collections. There are surprises. There
is new information. It is a classic work of heroic effort.
Although the m-list is blessed with more than a couple of genius minds, for
most of us citizen-scientists the reader's journey will begin as a slow
slog through data that requires constant secondary searches to get current
with the science and jargon for any degree of comprehension.
But if the low gravity, thin atmosphere and high cosmic ray exposure are
curtailing your crawl through the regolith, head straight down the page to
'Discussion' and the nebula clouds clear. You will learn and enjoy.

And we all love meteorites. So why not have a little kiss with Black
Beauty?
A long time ago in a faraway place I invested in two < gram specimens, one
a paired individual, and I need a little magnification for the limited view
through the window of the other. But these are of the most significance in
time and space in the study of Martian mets and just their presence in my
collection fills me with a little bit of awe.
Maybe more than a little. These specimens in my Riker were there when Mars
was born. And the solar system congealed. And our star gave first light.
And now they are in my garage.
And don´t wait to see "A map of 90 million craters on Mars color-coded by
size and age" which is suitable for framing.

Kevin Kichinka is based in the GoldiLocks mountains of western Costa Rica,
not too hot, not too cold, not too wet, not too dry, planning to avoid the
climate crisis.
He is recovering from a one hour, relentless pounding of simultaneous flash
and bang, of a War-of-the-Worlds-like mountain-top lighting storm a week
ago. Still without a cell phone signal, the desktop running on a
spare power part sending this vital message over a rusty dsl wire. Damage
control from Scotty on the Enterprise reports a tight group of four
formerly proud and tall rainforest trees are now lifeless victims, laying
on the ground way too close to home, left as "Ashes in the moment".
In other words, just another day.
Kichinka usually doesn't write in the voice of the 'third party', but it
always seems so professional when ending a literary masterpiece. This quirk
is probably related to his many years of putting adjectives after nouns in
Spanish. In the twilight of his life, "playing in extra time" as the older
*futbo*l *fanatic* Ticos like to say, and he replying in disagreement, "I'm
still in the first half!" he now frequently forgets words in English.
And here it doesn't matter.

And I'm reminding anyone that's not yet read my book, *let alone bought a
copy*, and of which someone very special to us opined - "Three thumbs up!"
- Bob Haag - well let's go. It's on Amazon, which takes at least 30% of
the $9.99 sales price, more if they have to transmit the electrons to
faraway and exotic places like Toronto.
The eBook has an extra hundred pages or so not in the hard copy, probably
because I hadn't written them yet.
There's propaganda stuff like that the Widmanstatten Pattern should be
called the 'Thomson Structure' (Richard Norton thought so,too). And there's
always interest in my discovery regarding the dog gone dog gone Nakhla
legend....hear-yee hear-yee read all about it.
For you book-end statisticians, just five not-yet-available hard copies are
left of this out-of-print work (including 'signed' #500 to be sold at
auction some day) of the 2,200 printed, and over 900 have sold as part of
an endless, limitless supply of eBooks that will be available on Amazon
until the Sun engulfs our planet or Amazon.com goes bankrupt. Place your
bets.
Darryl Pitt played an important role in the book's success, once telling me
"It'll have legs," and it's still running. (Hey Darryl, todo bien?)
I am humbled, grateful and proud, thanks to the encouraging support for all
my endeavors by terrific Team Meteorite. Pura Vida.
