dear all - german-born leiden astronomer ingrid van houten-groeneveld passed 
away on monday 30 march, 93 years old. together with her husband kees van 
houten (who died in 2002) and with dutch/american astronomer tom gehrels 
(who died in 2011), ingrid discovered 4605 asteroids, as part of the 
leiden-palomar survey. many of them have been given a 'dutch' name (see the 'vHGG'= 
entries in this list of minor planets with a name that is somehow related 
to the netherlands: http://www.astronieuws.nl/NL-plan.html). asteroid 1674) 
groeneveld is named in ingrid's honour. a funeral service is planned on april 7.
