Hello Rick and List,

Rick concluded (almost) correctly that thicker slices in
TS can cross into higher order colors for pyroxene.

I wouldn't say they cross into higher order colors. Instead I would
prefer this: they change color or maybe even better they assume a
different color(ation). Let's take a look at the so-called Michel-Lévy
Interference Color Chart and you know what I mean:

Estatite in a 30µm (0.03 mm) TS: a light grayish color
Estatite in a 50µm (0.05 mm) TS: orange-reddish color

Pigeonite in a 30µm (0.03 mm) TS: greenish-blue
Pigeonite in a 50µm (0.05 mm) TS: purplish-blue

Augite in a 20µm (0.02 mm) TS: pinkish orange
Augite in a 30µm (0.03 mm) TS: yellowish-green
Augite in a 50µm (0.05 mm) TS: darker bluish-green

Hypersthene in a 30µm (0.03 mm) TS: light orange
Hypersthene in a 50µm (0.05 mm) TS: a vivid, dark blue
