Dear meteorite friends & Meteorite-Central List,

Here is the last series of news for the 15th “Ensisheim-Meteorite2014”

I believe everybody could reach the links to thecorresponding flyers
included in the Ensisheim city web sites (if not, let meknow and I’ll
be glad to send them attached, off List)

All the 59 tables (53 “regular” and 6 window-tables in theconsignment

There will be a few more accompanying persons present onsome tables.
All such people can benefit of a free badge, on the basisdescribed in
the preceding “Ensi news” (June 1)

Important changes.

Dealers can enter the Regency rooms to set their tables (Friday13:00 –
17:30 (sharp) and Saturday 7/30 to 9:30) by first collecting
theirbadges at the reception desk (entrance of the Regency palace) and
then they mustpay their tables to the cashier present on the desk prior
to climb the stairs.
Please prepare cash (preferred), though French checks aretolerated
(France is the only country in “Euroland” maintaining the now“archaic”
check system…).
Credit Cards not accepted.

People without badges are not considered as dealers, can’toccupy
tables, nor are allowed to sell meteorites elsewhere within
thebuildings or on the Regency square.

The 6 consignment flat window-tables will containmeteorites, tektites,
impactites…from the following collections (list nowclosed, though I can
always be flexible…):

GABELICA Zelimir (B), JACQUES Benoît (B), JAWERBAUM Eduardo
(AR),STEHLIK Harald (A), TURONE Oscar (AR), VATAJ Ramë (KS), VERLOOVEN
Guy (B),WENGERT Sigrid (D).
JACQUES Vincent (NHM Brussels) will present a new home
mademoisture/air-protected window to store and safely display meteorite
samples.

FOOD AND DINNER PARTIES

When you read this, consider you might have less than 24hours to ask me
for a reservation for the FRIDAY DINNER PARTY (send the numberof people
and names) before we close the reservation list.
The dinner starts at 20:00.
This reservation is not a strict control but helps the cooksto prepare
the appropriate amount of food (for memory: special menu based onlyon
veal – this to gently tease those of you who continue to prefer
beef,chicken pork…).
So far we have about 75 people (probably more tomorrow…)attending, one
of them having preferred vegetarian menu.
Those who reserved by phone could perhaps send me again ashort mail
confirmation. A written document is always more reliable than an oral
order.

ENTHRONING CEREMONIES:
For these special 15th and 30thanniversaries, about 10 people will
become our “New Brothers”.
Among them, our colleagues “meteorite aficionados”: GregHUPÉ (US),
Eduardo JAWERBAUM (AR) and Joachim KARL (D).

We recommend attending this part of the welcomingcommemorating
ceremonies that we’ll maintain brief enough so as to save timefor the
friendly drinks taste (bear in mind trying the newly brewed local
beer“Aerolite 1482”).

THEMATIC EXHIBITS

Regarding the British and Irish meteorites exhibit (Regencymuseum),
Martin Goff notes that mentioning their origin being from UK and
Irishmuseums was a mistake in the flyer. All the samples actually do
belong to the “BIMS”personal collection.

(NEW and OLD) BROTHER GUARDIAN’s DUTIES

Despite the plate and the labor required for diplomas designcosts,
unlike in other Confraternities, in Ensisheim enthroning ceremonies
arefree of charge for the new honorary guardians.
It is however expected that perhaps most of them would embodytheir
satisfaction for being so honored, in donating some symbolic (but
real!)“rock from space” from their collections, to complete the
recently startedcollection of the Regency museum.
Feel free to contact me (anonymously) for that; your pieceswill then
soon be (officially) displayed in the museum…

Important note:

For this 15th anniversary, all the former“Brothers” present in the
ceremonies are kindly asked to bring along theirenthroning plates and
wear them proudly around the neck during the Fridayceremonies.
A kind of “who’s who”, that will be recorded in aforthcoming memorial
booklet!

WEATHER FORECAST

From now on, a non-negligible anticyclone (high pressureatmosphere) is
being stabilized West from the British Isles, meaning that thepresent
dry and mild N or NE streams will be maintained for at least one
wholeweek and progressively “degenerate” (so to say) into a warmer
stable dry sunnyweather, auguring well for an around ~25°C temperature
charming our show, highenough to suggest outside activities and
specific cold beverage worship!

Welcome all, have much fun and get (or remain) happy!

Zelimir
