Happy Monday Everyone,

Today I have the great pleasure of introducing some spectacular 
material to the community that in part comes from my personal 
collection as well as material collected on my most recent visit to the 
Kentland Crater in Kenltand, Indiana. If you do not care to read my 
rambling about the specimens I have, feel free to go directly to the 
eBay link, as the pictures speak volumes for themselves :-)


Firstly, I have been asked numerous times whether in all my trips to 
Kentland, whether I have found a 100% perfect shattercone fully intact 
 from bottom to apex. The answer is yes, and I would like to make one 
very rare and special specimen available to the masses, in such a form 
that is worthy of any museum or collector, which demands the best of 
the best. This specimen has got it all, and I mean to the “T”. It is a 
100% perfect cone, preserved in very fresh limestone, has beautifully 
detailed striations, and the cherry on top….It has dual orientation!

1. The specimen weighs 435.5 grams and stands on its own in a position 
very indicative of its natural position when found in the field. As I 
said, if you demand the best of the best, look no further. I only have 
a few cones such as this, and they will never leave my collection. This 
is a rare opportunity, and worth having a look for sure. -

Next, and just as awesome (to me at least) is a new highly altered 
material I found at Kentland my last trip after having searched for two 
straight days. It appears to show a matrix the result of some serious 
heat induced plastic flow, which formed a dike with clast of a breccia 
 from a zone below of what looked to be a brecciated basement material 
and a layer of semi-course polymict breccias just above. The exposure 
was quite weathered at the surface so after much digging I was able to 
collect some very stable pieces.

2. This endcut weighs 803g and has been cut, sanded, and polished to 
reveal a matrix that reveals breccias clast floating and stretching to 
create shapes reminiscent of a tadpole in its earliest of stages, as

Now this is a cool stone, even in its small form. It appears to be a 
quench material with amazing long quench xtals that are oriented from a 
common surface. On the backside, the piece shows very large T variation 
common to shocked rocks. Additionally, on the outer most surface of the 
green melt, is a vesicular foamy black melt material. As if all that 
wasn’t enough, there are also metal inclusions seen on the uncut 
portion which have left oxide stains, the metal of which has not yet 
been tested to prove iron.

3. The specimen weighs 51.8 grams, and is the rarest of the materials I 
have found thus far at the Kentland site. This is an extra special 
pieces, the other half of which, I have in my personal collection. You 
may never see something like this again from this site, or any, so if
