  This region of Mars has been long studied for its evidence 
  of glacial-like flow features.

o Layers in Northeast Sinus Meridiani

  Images like this will allow us to compare these layers with 
  other layers, such study will shed light on the past environment 
  of Mars.

o Martian Mélange

  These warm, enhanced colors are due to minerals altered by water, 
  whereas the blue and green colors are from unaltered minerals such 
  as olivine and pyroxene.

managed by NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, a division 
of the California Institute of Technology, for the NASA

and built the spacecraft. HiRISE is operated by the 
University of Arizona. Ball Aerospace and Technologies 
Corp., of Boulder, Colo., built the HiRISE instrument.
