Discovered in 1989, asteroid 4179 Toutatis is classed as a Potentially
Hazardous Asteroid. On this approach to Earth, Toutatis will pass within 4.3
million miles - that's very close in astronomical terms for an object that
is 3.4 miles in diameter!
