I had no idea what you were talking about regarding Wolverine - now I do.  I
guess it is appropriate that a fictional character would be the one to
provide a fictional explanation.  More disappointing is that the site is
"endorsed" by National Geographic.

It seems this is the author of the "boiling ice inside the meteor"
explanation for exploding meteors. 

I don't know. I "kind of" thought he MIGHT not be right---- but "Wolverine"
wouldn't steer you wrong.  ;-)
