Don't forget that sometimes terrestrial rocks (not man-made) can show enough magnetic attraction to make you go "Hmmm", especially if it appears they show other meteoric characteristics, like something that appears to be fusion crust or flow lines.  The local Hawaiian basalts have enough iron content to stick weakly to a magnet.
