In response to the recent discussion on the early use of radium on some 
history of science listservs, I thought it might be interesting to some 
metlist members to post a letter written by George Barker to W. J. Hammer in 
1903 about the use of radium salts for an upcoming Columbia University 
lecture to be given by Barker.
