Subject: [meteorite-list] Tsunami in Hawai'i

Aloha all,

Contrary to popular belief I did not take out my rhino chaser to charge the
tsunami that rolled into Hilo ~3:30am this morning. I did however, meander
through back roads and cane fields this morning to get to Honoli'i bay, a
local surf spot to witness some storm surging from high above the waterline
on a pali (cliff). I have compiled a photo album of that and other images
from around the state on Facebook, that can be seen here:

There is also a great timelapse of the tidal surge during the night on
youtube:

We give great thanks to ke akua for sparing any loss of life, although some
property damage was incurred. Our thoughts and prayers now turn to the
people of Japan.
