Okay here goes,

First of all your premise is wrong.

The Meteorite fell on July 19, 1912 and NOT 1911.  I only stated that
the “TRUE” Anniversary date would be on July 19 2011 so people would
not get confused and show up on that date. In other words our hunt
will be on July 16 and NOT July 19th.

The bottom line is this:
July 19, 2011 marks the beginning of the 100th year – and we are
currently in the 99th year. That means that anytime before the
anniversary (July 19) would still be in the 99th year.

Since our hunt is on Saturday July 16, 2011 – before the anniversary -
we will still be in the 99th year. The 99th year will be completed on
July 19th 2011 and then the 100 year would begin. The 100th year would
be completed on July 19 2012.

Make sense?
