Hello All,

Carl2, you memory serves you right!

The color of LDG is affected by:

1) its very high silica content (almost pure silica: 98%). A decreasing silica content
  correlates with a gradual change of color from yellow over green towards brown.

and, ... this has to do with no. 2:

2) the total iron content and by the Fe(II)/Fe(III) ratio.
