Not so, powdered mummies were a standard medicament, sold in the apothecaries in former times.

"Mumia vera aegyptiaca"  was sold in drugstores still in the 1920ies.

Was recommended from Paracelsus on against various kinds of diseases.
In 20 century it was later then rather something like vitamin pills today,
good for nothing, but for the pharmacist :-)

Right Martin!

Since the Munsters were mentioned before, I still prefer a 'brownish lump of iron' or meteorite dust pigment
to the original "mummy brown", a pigment from another kind of dust ...
