Greg, joe
I have spoken to John valley and will be providing them all data and map for all 100 plus finds that I have collected and collated. I hope to finish tomorrow as well as scan the hand drawn map, which will be put on their site.

This includes approx 20- 25 that I did not have - from Rob Matsons list but I do not have locations and pics for those.
Please look through it when posted and add incomplete data if possible.
This will be an ongoing project so please keep the data coming if you want to help.
Thanks to all who provided the info.

Can someone post the 2 kg pic on a site for me- joe?? -i have the pic.

Would like to know who has that stone as it was not authenticated .
Pls email me off list if you wish to remain on the sidelines, and your info will not be shared.

If anyone needs an area to look through before the map is posted- pls contact me off list. Regret the delay but I do not have it in emailable format.

Regards
Atul kumar

Subject: [meteorite-list] Wisconsin Find Registration UW-Madison

Hello All,

To all who found meteorites, or purchased stones from the original finders
of the April 14, 2010 fall in southwestern Wisconsin, I encourage everyone
to register these with the University of Wisconsin - Madison. In charge of
this web site is Professor John Valley. I have already sent in the
information for my two finds which included; Weight, Date of Find (I
included time as well), GPS coordinates and Photos (if you can not send or
take stones to John).

Here is a snip of John's reply to me earlier today:

"We have three lists of meteorites. One contains references that we find on
the web or hear about second hand. The more important list contains
all confirmed finds of falls from April 14. We will put your samples on
the confirmed list. We also show pictures on our web site, but this is
just the subset of samples that we have examined and photographed ourselves
I understand your reluctance to ship them to us. It would be very helpful to
know the weights of your samples and the approx. (or exact) locations where
you found them. This will help us to eventually define the distribution of
the strewn field and the total mass of stones that were found. Thanks, John
Valley"

Here is the link to the Registration Page:

I would also encourage everyone who has not sent Richard Kowalski or Rob
Matson this information to do so as well. The data that can be gleaned from
this information will help these three parties with future meteorite
recovery and other important science.

Best regards,
Greg
