[meteorite-list] Need a 6-inch diamond saw blade? (super thin .006" kerf)

Greetings cutters and slicers,

I have a nice diamond blade that I ordered, and I can't use. So, I'd
like to swap it to someone who can use it.

It's a Lapcraft Dia-Laser diamond lapidary blade. 6-inch, .006" kerf,
half-inch arbor.

This is one of those ultra-thin "floppy" blades that is impossibly
thin and it requires a high-speed motor or large pulley to keep it
rigid during cutting. My lapidary saw doesn't have enough RPM's to
use this blade, so it started wandering on me during the very first
cuts on a small meteorite. Rather than damage the blade or massacre
my meteorite, I took the blade off and used a thicker .012" kerf
blade. So now I have this barely-used diamond blade and nothing to do
with it.

It has only been used to make two small cuts (one and a-half
actually), so the diamonds are still fresh with lots of life. I use
Lapcraft Dia-Laser blades for all of my cutting and they are great
quality blades made in the USA. But, I had no idea about the RPM
requirements to use these wafer-thin blades. My loss is your gain.
These sell for $29.95 plus shipping when new. I'd like to trade it
someone who can use it - just throw some meteorites or something in
the $15-20 price range at me in return. I still have the sleeve and
you can see photos of the blade at the following link -

I have an old, used, CBN blade I will throw in for free. I never
really liked the CBN blade (it's supposedly made for iron meteorites,
and I mostly cut stones, so I didn't care for how it cuts). Maybe
someone can get some use out of it.

Best regards,

MikeG
