Smart move...once you've pointed out his error, you  done your job. At that 
point, his not seeing the light is nothing more than  trying to save face 
over his original story, however ridiculous it may be.Who  knows, the next 
time he tells such a cock and bull story to someone else, there  might be 
something in it to believe.  :O)
