Dear Listees:

As you know, last Saturday several List members participated in the  
Lunar and Planetary Lab's Apollo 11 40th anniversary celebration. It  
was a terrific event with lectures, films, displays of Apollo mission  
memorabilia & genuine space hardware, and plenty of meteorites.

I wish we'd taken more pictures, but we were busy, busy, busy and it  
ended up being a 15-hour day for us. Hundreds of people came through  
the Kuiper Space Sciences building to view the various displays and  
events.

I remember seeing Dolores Hill (one of the organizers), Rik Hill,  
Marvin Kilgore, Robert Ward, Shauna Russell, Greg Hupe, Bob Holmes,  
Mike and Mel Farmer, Mark Bowling, John Humphries, Jim Shorten,  
Frederic Stephan, and I'm sure there are some other people I forgot  
(sorry), so the meteorite world was very well represented. One of the  
highlights was meeting Thomas Bopp of Comet Hale-Bopp fame.
