[meteorite-list] Bogus indochinites?

Hi friends and listees!

I screwed up. I may have purchased some fake tektites.

I bought a small lot of indochinites from a seller in Hong Kong
on eBay. After I purchased it, I recalled hearing the seller's name
on the meteorite-identification website that has a list of the bad
eBay sellers. Sure enough, his name was on it for selling fake
moldavite - "gaofudev"

So, my question is, if this person's moldavite is fake, does that
mean the indochinites are fake too? Is there any definitive way
for me to tell if the indochinites are real, or some kind of
industrial glass fakery? They haven't arrived yet and the photos
in the auction don't show much detail. I only bought $10 worth,
so I am not out a lot of money. I consider it a $10 lesson learned.

If I cannot be 100% certain these tektites are real, then I will not
sell or keep them. I will flush them down the toliet and cut my
losses. Unless someone wants them for free for analysis - in which
case I will give them away free - just to see what they really are,
if they are not tektites.

Has anyone ever bought indochinites from this guy?

Regards and clear skies,

MikeG

PS - my apologies if this email went through twice, my browser crashed
while sending the last one.
