Hello All,

I believe Occum's Razor would suggest that any C14 spikes associated
with impacts are more likely from enrichment while the asteroid is in
orbit.

As was mentioned previously, the C14 enriched region is concentrated at
the asteroid's exterior which in turn is the material shed into the
atmosphere via ablation. This approach does not require exotic quantum
physics-- induced by extreme mechanical physics of cosmic speed
impacts, to account for any spike in atmospheric C14 ratios.

By virtue of a meteoriod/asteroid's history it is going to arrive
bearing high C14 ratios as the decayed carbon ratio is being topped off
right up to deep atmosphere penetration--theoretically anyway.
