Dear List Members and Angrite Collectors,

Pete asks:
"Of the three (angrites) listed (NWA 2999, NWA 4590 "Tamassint", NWA 4801),
Greg, which would you consider as the front runner? I hope it's NWA 2999 as
that's the only one I have of those three that you've listed. Pete"

Pete, I consider all three of the angrites I have brought to the scientific
and collecting world, with help from the nomadic finders and my Moroccan
partners, as front runners. If it were not these angrites, many analytical
testing may not have been considered. Take for instance the abstract titled
"Magnetism On The Angrite Parent Body" by Dr. Benjamin Weiss of MIT in
Boston. I and my most recent angrite, NWA 4931 (new 2140 gram main mass
paired to NWA 2999) were flown up to MIT to have a core sample taken from
this large stone. This was important because Dr. Weiss could then perform
"clean" magnetism testing from a sample that was hopefully not subjected to
Moroccan or other's magnets. This is a very time consuming testing process
and the coring took place in October 2007. Here is Dr. Weiss's abstract,
which does not include NWA 4931 because it was not yet discovered during his
initial testing:

Here is an abstract presented by Drs Amelin and Irving reporting ages of
angrites NWA 2999, NWA 4590 "Tamassint" and NWA 4801:

Here is another interesting abstract discussing constraints for existence of
a core on the APB:

I hope this helps you decide which is the "front runner", which may be in
the scientific data each reveals or simply a matter of beauty as seen by
each individual collector. All three are completely different in appearance.

Best regards,
Greg
