Hi Bob:
I can give you a brief update.
I spent the whole day on Saturday and part of the day Friday going to
the various meteorite rooms.  Everyone is pretty much set up.
Blaine Reed had a nice selection of pallasites including Imilac,
Seymchan and Esquel.  He also had an incredible 15 kg(?) Gibeon which
sold while I was in the room.

Anne Black and Geoff Notkin had a nice display with some huge irons
(100 kg?) like Gibeon and Campo.  Geoff had a big ol Allende on
consignment from a family that witnessed the fall. Not to be missed is
the Monnig Collection book.  This is a must-have.  Very well done with
a lot of interesting correspondence between Monning and Nininger.  The
pictures are fantastic, but I wish there were more!
Anne had a huge selection of meteorites, many from the Monning
Collection.  I picked up a piece of Shelburne with Monnig Number, a
slice of Grady with an old Ward's label and Monning Number, and a
slice of the very very rare Giroux, Canada pallasite.

I then walked over to Bruno's room and saw some incredible historic
pieces.  Kyushsu with a wood-cut print of the fall, Orgueil, Lance, a
200g Bereba, Agen, Renazzo, and others.  I walked out with a 600g
Modoc with AMNH number 2187.  Interestingly, Al Lang has #2188 of the
Modoc fall. Kinda cool.

Mike Farmer and Moritz Karl have a very nice display of many  
meteorites.  The room looks great and is probably the best display of  
meteorites in Tucson.
Mike had a killer oriented diogenite(?), and some real nice slices of  
Glorieta pallasite and Seymchan pallasite.  Moritz had quite a few  
historics and a huge 1.3 kg slice of Imilac that was to-die-for.  I  
think it was about 30 k USD.

Alain Carion had pieces from the Boubee collection including Orgueil  
(I bought one), Ensisheim, Krasnojarsk, Holbrook, and aone other  
French fall.

ET had some Murray (5k) and Isna (5k) and a sweet end cut of Camel  
Donga (10k).  Not to mention the 500 pound complete(!) and beautiful  
Brahin.

At the show you would notice markedly higher prices on many items.   
Historics are much higher; Holbrook averages about 15/g, Allende  
(while not a historic IMO) about 8-10/g.  So falls are on their way  
up, big time.  There are a lot more collectors now than ever before  
and dealers can't keep the stuff in inventory.  The Moroccan  
meteorites, once available by the car load are now only covering a  
single table.  Most are what I would call "junk".  You can still find  
some good Moroccan achondrites, if you look hard.  Prices are still  
reasonable for these.

Seymchan pallasites, from the source, are 2.5-4/g for material with  
pretty bad olivine.  The iron-only slabs are .60/g-1.00/g.  And there  
is much less of this material.

Sikhote-Alin's are still around.  A lot of shrapnels.  Some  
individuals.  No change in price, really.
