This is a little dated now...but I've had some difficulty in getting my
first submission to the Meteorite list posted.

There is an excellent discussion of the probabilities and possibilities of
Alien visitation in a recent book by Travis Taylor entitled "An Introduction
to Planetary Defense: A Study of Modern Warfare Applied to Extra-Terrestrial
Invasion".

ion/dp/1581124473/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1217611621&sr=1-5

Taylor is a highly educated and accredited scientist who works for NASA in
Huntsville, AL.
The book is actually a serious work on the title subject, but the first 1/3
of the book relates to the relevant question regarding Aliens and the
probability of a visit. In addition to the issues around the time it takes
to travel from planet to planet across the galaxy, he explores questions of
what the aliens would be like (not the anthropomorphic kind) and even if
they would be able to survive in the environment of the Earth.

It's an interesting read.

Wayne Dodd
