[meteorite-list] Holmes [17P]

Hi list,

I was able to observe the comet last night. The southern hemisphere is disfavoured, we have clear skies though...

It is a bright star for the unaided eye, in a 10x50 it appears as a small bright circular disk. The 4" Newtonian reveals a circular disk with a bright center, just outside the center of the disk.

I made some fotos. I used a Canon EOS 350D digital camera and a 300m lens, took 30 exposures of 1" each and stacked. Then I used a Larson-Sekanina algorithm to reveal a shell structure, yet no eruptions or jets.
