Ebay. I had been buying fossils on Ebay for years and, one day, started
wondering what other weird things were sold on there. Meteorites popped into my
head, and I looked and found them. I thought that my first meteorite purchases
were in 2002, and the purchases start showing up there-- heres the SECOND one:

Item Number: #2133904892

But then again, the first one that shows up in my archives is from 1998--

You have won the 3.5 gram henbury meteorite on ebay. The total with
shipping is $10.99. Please email me your address. Please send check or
money order to me at

But I don't remember buying anything that far back-- I still have that Henbury
(shale) piece, but I must have bought it as a "one off" weird item and didn't
think about it again until 2002. Unless the e-mail was dated incorrectly?
Mike, were you selling meteorites on Ebay in 1998?
