[meteorite-list] Call for Absentee bids (AD)

Hi, Mike,

>>So, with only 98 items, it will be a very short night, indeed ( most
of the previous auctions had about 140 items)

I'm a little curious why there would be about a 30 percent drop of
meteorites in your auction.

Any ideas for the decline?
Economics? Weather? Supply out of Africa finally drying up? Public
disinterest? (I see by Google Trends that there have only been a few minor
blips during 2006 for "meteorite")

Cheers,
Pete

Greetings all,
I know most of us are looking foreword to going to the Tucson
Show. However, some of us can't. Each year I get a number of absentee
bids - and this year's catalog is chock full of terrific specimens - 98 of
them to be exact and 90 of them are with NO MINIMUM. Yet, unlike
previous years, there has been only one item that has gotten absentee
bids. Remarkable.
So, with only 98 items, it will be a very short night, indeed (
most
of the previous auctions had about 140 items) - so if you have something to
put in, NOW is the time - and if you want to place an absentee bid, now is
the time.
         Best wishes, Michael
