A blazing fireball plummeting toward Earth was seen over a wide area of 
Central Oregon, Northern California and Nevada as night fell on Christmas 
Eve.
Several spotters say they saw it break apart into three fiery streaks of 
light, but a meteorite hunter says there's little if any chance a blazing 
"rock from space" might have reached the ground
