[meteorite-list] Mars atmosphere, aerobraking, and meteorites on Mars

Hi all - 

Just a random thought with coffee - 

Perhaps the reason we are seeing so few meteorites on
Mars is that given Mars' thin atmosphere, a horizontal
entry is necessary for meteroid survival.  If there is
no horizontal flight, then the impact speed remains
high enough to either bury them (irons) or powder them
(all else). 

Of course, the watery mars folks are insisting that
all the hematite on Mars came from water action....
