[meteorite-list] Just out of curiousity

Hi all -

I suppose there are many here who have had experience
doing exactly the following, but just out of
curiousity I wonder how they do it. Let's say they
have an unidentified NWA before them covered by a
fusion crust.

How do they then identify it, optimally? I assume
they make a rough guess at density based on how it
feels and how big it looks to them. But what about
the fusion crust? How do they optimally decide to get
through this, to take a look, how do they decide where
to take the sample from for identification, etc.

good hunting,
Ed
