Trouble with that technique has been that their are a LOT of nonmeteoric rocks in the New England neighborhood where I live. Guess I have to move closer to a known strewn field. Not very likely

With these things the meteorites will fly from the ground to the magnet, so all you have to do is hold it a few feet from the ground.
Check it out:
