Don and all,
The comets are all at safe distance of about 9 million miles from Earth.
That's as close as they're going to get. A couple of other comets and
especially asteroids have come considerably closer in the past with no ill
effects. If you haven't seen 73P Schwassmann-Wachmann 3, go to
http://skyandtelescope.com/observing/objects/comets/article_1704_1.asp for
a chart, grab your binoculars and take a look. Under a dark sky the one
comet (C component) shows a delicate and beautiful tail with binoculars.
Happy clear skies,
Bob

Interesting paper? Eyebrow raising points? We must have read something
different. What I read is some utter nonsense involving UFOs, crop circles,
and other imaginary fluff, devoid of any physics, and written by someone
just trying to sell some books lacking in any scientific merit. This Julien
guy is clearly a waste of oxygen.

Hi list. Here is an interesting paper about the Comet 73P Schwassmann-
Wachmann. MAY 25, 2006 - the Day of Destiny! [ HTML | PDF ] Click
either
one to read this. This guy has some eyebrow raising points of interest on a
possible
collision this month or even a possible meteor shower! Any comets? I mean
comments about this?
Thank you.
Sincerely
Don Merchant
