AW: [meteorite-list] People Doing Stange Things to Meteorites

Hi Andy and List!

First of all: Yes, I’m still a collector (who deals a little bit, like
nearly all of us)!

You are absolutely right, if you say: “Let them collect, what they like
to collect.”
BUT, I don’t have to like meteorite carvings (or spheres and so on) and
if someone in a public forum asks, what the strangest thing is, someone
has done to a meteorite, I have the right to say my opinion. I don’t
think that I have discriminated someone in this way, because I have not
used names or special situations in my statement (if I’m wrong in this
point, I’m sorry!). I’ve never claimed that my stuff is better than
other ones stuff, and I don’t think that way.

Andy, I think that you should know me and my opinions better than
someone else on this list (save as much material as possible by
generating nice specimens for collectors and SCIENCE) and you (like many
other dealers) know how hard this way really is. We can discuss that
point again by a beer or cola at the next fair, if you want.

Best Wishes!

Ingo

Hi List ,Hi Ingo,

and I can only say: let the people go

..
All of you know we are collecting and dealing a stuff which is very
fragile, not even when it arrived the surface of earth , even when it
arrives the MARKET.
Your stuff and mine stuff is not better or “UN” better than every other
stuff witch is collected on earth surface. We are not the collectors of
the most science related stuff ,ok, I believe we are ,but this would not
fit in my argumentation.
And Yes we are not the ones who are allowed to discriminate others,
because they like more a sphere than an individual. I prefer an
individual, no question, but gosh, a sphere is the perfects form the
nature produced (mathematical) in the for us related 3 D world. So take
it or let it pass .( or take the next level
.4D

5D
.) . Your slice of
Obernkirchen ,or your speck of Kiel is used as a permanent give to the
science? ore more as devotion item? So when you are a collector, and I
hope you are, stand up and let the collectors of not so high-end items
take place, they want the same. Perhaps YOU can teach them.

Andi

Good evening all,

This is, without a doubt, the strangest thing I've seen done to a
meteorite. Is this "art"? Personally, I want to cry when I see thingts
like ths and I'd rather see it rust in oblivion.

Shall we have a contest to see who can find the strangest, most idiotic
thing to do to a meteorite?
