[meteorite-list] STILL another pairing question

Hi again,

Here’s another possible pairing to ponder:

“The basaltic shergottite Northwest Africa 856 (NWA
856): Petrology and chemistry”
[Meteoritics & Planetary Science, vol. 37, no. 9, pp.
1147-1164 (2002)]

<http://adsabs.harvard.edu/cgi-bin/nph-data_query?bibcode=2002M%26PS...37.1147J&link_type=ARTICLE&db_key=AST>

In the above paper, Jambon, A. et al, compare NWA 856
to NWA 480, Shergotty, Zagami, and Los Angeles.

In their effort to clearly show that NWA 856 and NWA
480 are in no way paired, they made a good case for
showing all of the similarities between NWA 856 and
Shergotty. At the same time, they did a good job of
showing that NOTHING is paired to Los Angeles.

While we’re on this subject, how about a show-of-hands
for all of those who were duped into believing that
Los Angeles was paired to a NWA shergottite?

Well, the above paper should finally put that
meteorite mythology to rest.

Cheers,
Bob V.
