That is a typical shrapnel, the grooves are just where the metal shredded, 
very common. Not flow lines.

Well, I bought a few more pieces of Sikhote Alin "shrapnel" from the same 
dealer that sold me the
small oriented individual as cheap shrapnel.  The two other small pieces 
were also individuals,
though not oriented.  The big piece, though, at 41.6 grams, is more unusual 
to me (not having
handled much Sikhote Alin.  I don't think it is shrapnel because all edges 
are to some degree
rounded off, but while it doesn't have an oriented shape, it is covered with 
deep grooves.  Could
these be some sort of fracturing feature, or are they very deep flow lines?
