[meteorite-list] AD: Video Footage of our trip to Oman

Hi List,
We just watched our copy of Steve's DVD and went along with them for the
wild ride. Would the next stop turn up a little black rock or the tip of
a 4 kilo beauty? Or, would it be the wrong end of one those ugly desert
beasties? Get a copy and find our for yourselves. This is a trip I don't
suppose that any of the rest of us will ever be able to take now and
this is our chance to see what it would be like. And, how often do you
get to see the meteorite now in your hand actually being found? Our
thanks go to Steve and his wife for sharing the adventure with us.

Several trips to the store (which for me living way out in the sticks is not an easy thing to do) to buy DVD's, DVD holders, DVD labels, the dozens of bad prints onto the labels, the making of the insert to the DVD holders, then printer running out of ink, yadda yadda yadda.

> Bottom line, finding the meteorites in Oman seems to have been easier than making these DVDs. So, I have determined that it probably is not worth it for me to do these for less than $15 as they are in rough form, so if demand is high enough, I am going to edit the video even more and clean it up, and have it done much better. But doing that is going to push the price up around $20. So, I will extend the $10 offer for the rough version another 24 hours, then I am going to raise the prices to $15. Then if there is further demand, I will sink another 40 or 50 hours (or more) into making a $20 version.

> For all of you who ordered the DVD, please give me some feed back on what you think? If you think your comments will help the others waiting for your reviews before coughing up the $10, $15 or $20 then I suppose such comments might be good to post to the list. Of course if you want to respond privately to me off list, please do.

> I didn't mention before, but there is footage of the SaU001 strewnfield, so if you have one of those, this DVD would be a good addition. Also, if you are a dealer that sells Omani meteorites, this could be a great item to offer to your customers, I am sure they would love it. If I decide to produce a big batch of professional quality versions, I would be able to offer a bulk discount to dealers. We did do a quick fly by on the Lunar and SNC find sites of Dhofar 019,Dhofar 025 and 026, but did not include that footage (since we didn't find anything there. Some of that could be added into an edited version if people might be curious as to what those spots look like.
