Regarding Chicago Steve:
I want to express my regret at seeing so
many list members acting like a bunch
of JR High school punks pounding on
the geek during lunch time.
    It is no secret that Steve is not the
"coolest" kid at school, but I will tell
you this: He is honorable, enthusiastic
and has a good heart - which isn't reflected
in everyone's behavior on this list. It is
reflected in his. There IS such a thing as
a delete button if your sense of humor is
running low on a particular day and you
don't want to hear about his 43rd
micromount gift, his new computer or whatever.
    If you really HAD to blast him, any and
all of those posts could have been
sent directly to Steve  OFF LIST - and you
know it. It is one thing to tease someone a bit
for his eccentricity - and Steve sometimes
deserves it and is a very good sport about it,
too - it is quite another thing altogether to
public ally chastise him in a gang bang fashion.
    This  is rarely appropriate -  only when we have
had to deal with cheats who have repeatedly
ripped people off or crackpot nitwits from the
bottom of the fog. That was hardly the case here, folks.
         I was particularly disappointed to see
some of the people who chimed in to whom
I normally look up.
    I really hope I don¹t see this again.
    And that's my two stinkin' cents on the  topic.
