NEBRASKA PEOPLE SEE A BIG METEOR

IT ALSO PASSES OVER COLORADO

Scotts Bluff, Neb., Aug. 8. - (AP) A trail of grayish smoke in the
skies and vibrations which shook buildings over a wide territory in western
Nebraska and eastern Wyoming today were believed to have been caused by fall
of a meteor of considerable size.
Residents in the vicinity of Henry, Neb., reported a noise like a great
explosion. It sent employersof the Pathfinder Irrigation district rushing
tot he country where a large dynamite stock was stored.
No Trace
Some persons reported the smoke trail as having been seen fairly low
but no indications of where the meteor may have fallen was available.

Sterling, Colo., Aug. 8. - (AP) - Across the skies north of Sterling
this morning residents viewed a silvery meteor that seemed to fall just over
the horizon, where a puff of smoke marked its disappearance.
Like Silver
The celestial visitor, said those who were fortunate enough to observe
it, shone like silver and left a trail of smoke as it passed. It moved from
north to south.
