Tom,

Although they say a picture worth a thousand words, telling us where 
you found it would be useful.  After all, finding it it the middle of 
Kansas would be more significant than finding it in the middle of the 
rocky mountains!!

Hello List,  I found a rock that was 100% covered in what looked like 
brown
crust. It looked like a meteorite, but a magnet would stick to a piece 
of
glass before it would stick to this rock. It has a little caliche on it 
too.
The first pic shows the color of the "crust" and the window I made. The
second pic shows a close up of the "crust" but I could not get the brown
color to show up. The matrix is dark gray, almost black. It has some 
white
little lines (see third pic)  that look like feldspar (?) but then I 
thought
of augite and pigeonite crystals that are found in some meteorites, 
so....
   It also has a few inclusions that can be seen in the forth pic.
What do you all think, back to the meteorwrong pile, or worth a further
look?
