Dear peanuts;
Nantan's are for the most part rusty, rusty turning to hematite and 
limonite (your yellow crust is limonite).

You should try a better quality meteorite to practice streak testing on.

Nantans are weepers...meaning they will most likely one day break your 
heart with tears of Lawrencite disease.
See periodic list archival articles relating to the prose and poetry 
related to those cherished but  self destructive Nantans.
Hate to break the bad news.  Oh, do not weep for me, my Nantan.
