Hello list,
Not sure how far I will get into this series...as it is quite long, but I
will post at least some selected letters of Harvey Nininger and the
Smithsonian. In this series, Nininger corresponds with E. Henderson,
assistant curator at the museum is pretty much head of the meteorites, both
in trade and study. Henderson is somewhat new to this position as Nininger
corresponded with someone else....George Merril?....not long before the
letters start. You might remember Perry bringing his name up quite a bit in
the Perry - Nininger letters previously posted.

Dear Friend:
I wish you could see if it will be possible for me to obtain
a copy of the paper entitled "Fossil Disposition of Some American
Collections of Minerals" by Canfield. I cannot find where it is for
distribution, Please do not allow this request to become a burden, I think
perhaps one of the offices in the museum will be able to furnish the
information, however.
Some while ago you asked if I had heard of a meteorite fall
at Pueblo, Colo. After some inquiry I have gotten track of the fall and am
going to make a search. In case of any results the I.S. National museum
will come in for a share. The locality is not a very favorable one,
however.
I hope you are well. Mrs. Nininger joins me in sending our
good wishes.
Yours friend,
(signed)
