[DogParkList] MacLogger - Orion II connection problem

I am not having problems with lockups, but I was having troubles yesterday. I have been off HF for about six months due to an antenna issue that I wasn't able to rectify with the snow, ice, and cold weather. But a warm day yesterday, combined with a day off from work, allowed me an opportunity to get it repaired. As soon as I got it repaired I was on the air. I upgraded to the latest MLDX version (non beta) on the site. It didn't take me long to notice something was a little off. I used the spot feature to report a contact and noticed that the frequency that came through was not what was on the radio. Then I noticed that it wasn't properly upgrading the frequency in MLDX. If I used MLDX to change frequencies, it went to the correct frequency, but if I dialed or entered on the radio it wasn't coming up in the MLDX window. I tried quitting MLDX and reloading. No joy. I tried adding a non-zero ms wait. No joy. I tried changing the data rate from 56k (or something like that). Some of the lower data rates wouldn't work at all, even when I changed in both places and even with MLDX restarts. I think I finally settled on 38k and it seems to work fine. I didn't notice any problems after that. So I'm not sure if it was an out-of-sync problem or something else. My later HF use was pretty much stationary (nets), so I'll need to play more today, but I think there is a communications issue.

Works great ... for about twenty seconds, then the VFO connection to the rig freezes (until I restart the program, then freezes again in about 20 seconds).
